The Carey Community Service Award is presented in
recognition of James Carey retired CFOA Secretary
Treasurer. For over four decades Jim served as a mentor
and leader to members of the Board of Directors by
providing sage advice, insightful wisdom, prudent
persuasion, and historical perspective. In his work
beyond the CFOA Jim is a pillar of the community
participating in many noble causes involving volunteer
service endeavors as an educator, mentor, leader, and
sports legend. The Carey Award is presented to officials
who emulate Jim’s exemplary record of community
service and generous devotion to helping others. To
honor and recognize the extraordinary service of the Jim
Carey Award recipients the CFOA will make a monetary contribution in their names
